For the 207th release on Nang, we warmly welcome a new Spanish artist to the family. Ivan Fabra, is the Barcelona based music producer with a special focus on Nu Disco, Italo, Cosmic Disco-Funk and Balearic vibes. He combines minimal groove sounds and 80s synths with the pure physical energy of club and dance floor sounds in his productions.

Ivan began his professional music career in 1994 in the Barcelona & Valencia underground scene, later to release his debut on Cosmos Records in 1999 under the name of Funk Star Brothers with a single and a remix for a Spanish Indie Pop band called "Manta Ray". His productions were inspired by Chicago House and Detroit Techno and DJs like Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, Masters at Work, Larry Heard, Kenny Larkin, Kerry Chandler, Greg Wilson, Gilles Peterson. Since then he has released on labels such as Internasjonal/Codek/Sprechen/ Silhouette/Emerald & Doreen Records

His 2 track debut release on Nang records is entitled "Different Worlds" and is filled with emotive bass lines, and rich melodies

The title track gets things rolling with its classic 80's sounding drum programming and deep groove. The atmosphere is filled with huge sweeping luscious pads and synth sequences that echo and morph, filtering through different spaces making use of the full frequency range. This track touches all your senses.

Showcasing a different side Fabra brings the mood upwards with 'Magic Strings'. Immediately you are struck with a bold square-wave basseline that bounces on the off beat and gets your head bopping. The listener is captivated with warmth uplifting chords and glistening synth arpeggios. There are moments where the track becomes more minimal, allowing room for additional delicate melodies to flutter in and out in a dream like state.

Overall Ivan Fabra has skillfully mixed his wide music influences within this release and demonstrates his deep love for creating atmospheric, groove heavy disco.
